As I reflect on what I've shared and what actually happened over the weekend I've come to realize I'm sharing too many insignificant details. Bottom line is 13 guys made a COMMITMENT to give up a weekend and RISK becoming vulnerable and real because they believe God's Word is MORE THAN JUST WORDS ON A PAPER. We came seeking FORGIVENESS and the ability to forgive others. We brought some heavy baggage and threw it at the foot of the cross. We confessed our sins openly one to another. We shared many wounds and hurts. We talked about how difficult it is to carry our cross daily. Many of us realized that we aren't alone in our trials and struggles. Men from 20 years old to men of 50 years old poured into one another. From the baby christian to the mature man of faith, all are represented in this photograph. We encouraged one another. We inspired one another. We loved one another. We committed to pray for one another. We laughed together. We cried together. We broke bread together. We celebrated Holy Communion together. We were being the church. We all could have come up with excuses why we couldn't be there but we didn't. I believe our lives will be different because we took the risk and committed our lives to believing that it's more than just words on a paper.
THANKS GUYS.
