It shouldn't come as a shocker that it has taken a week to post about the retreat. All that had to be overcome to just get there was crazy. First a death in the family. Second winter weather that is a Fed Ex guys worst nightmare. Third a chest and head cold accompanied by a fever that had me feeling like crap. Fourth, I fought through all this and we were heading down to the camp and get a flat tire. May I remind you I feel like crap, it's 8 degrees, dark, wet and I'm trying to figure out how to get my spare out from under my truck. Isn't this just a blessing I'm thinking. Actually I am because if the enemy is throwing all this at me something good is gonna happen. I've got great friends who rip the lug wrench out of my hands and take care of the whole situation. We get the spare on and guess what? Nine years under the truck left it with little air! We make it to a station with air. (they now have air pumps that accept credit cards? you kidding me. 75 cents on a credit card? they couldn't help a guy out who is short on change? fortunately we had 3 quarters.) We finally arrive at camp about 90 minutes later than we intended. What was about to happen over the next 36 - 40 hours was gonna make all this worth while.....
