IN THE BEGINNING
THE LINEWORK
"IT IS FINISHED"
The positioning is intentional and symbolic.
It is in Christ where I find my strength. Phil. 4:13
It's a reminder that the Lord is always looking at and searching my heart. Jer. 17:10
When my arm is extended outward to lend a hand or serve, His eye is on my heart. When I raise my hand in worship, His eye is on my heart. When I extend my arm outward to defend myself or a loved one, His eye is on my heart.
It reminds me He is always with me wherever I go and whatever I am doing. Psalm 139
He protects, guards, and heals my heart. The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit have transformed my life. I have been given a new life and a new heart. They have strengthened, encouraged and fought for me. I have just walked through some of the darkest days of my life and I know for a fact that without Jesus Christ I would not have survived. This is a monument reminding me of how far we have traveled together and the victories that we have won together in the constant war for my heart. All glory goes to God. Thank you Jesus.
I find it strange how so many people are calling me out on this. Both believers and non-believers. They say things like, "I thought you were a christian. It says in the bible you aren't suppose to get tattoos." I ask them if they know where it says that and I get responses like "No, but I know it's in there." I wonder if they read it or if this is just something they have heard. I am assuming the verse they are referring to is Leviticus 19:28
" 'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
The tattoo has been visible for 4 days and no less than 6 people have made a comment like this. I have been shaving my head bald for the entire 6 years of my christian walk and have never had anyone call me out on the verse that precedes it. Leviticus 19:27
" 'Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.
What's up with that? Is it because they also clip the hair on the sides of their heads? I don't defend myself too much. I just tell them that the bible also says Jesus had a tattoo. They all have asked where it says that and I just tell them, "I'm not sure, just start reading cause it's in there."
Revelation 19:16
On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The symbolism is great, and the artwork is unbelievable. Did you design it or have it designed for you? It's incredible.
That's awesome. It's a great reminder to yourself, and will also create opportunities to share your story whenever anyone asks about your tattoo!
Jewda,
I sketched it on the bulletin while you were teaching the last time. Ha! No seriously the artist is from Mexico and I actually purchased the linework from him. Thanks for your kind and complimentary words. BTW I really do enjoy your teachings/sermons.
Jeanette,
Thank you as well. I did get to share my story with the guy who did it for me. I love to scatter seeds and this definitely will create opportunities.
That is really good ink work! I also can see where people will question your decision, but who cares? If someone gets a tat, isn't it their own decision? Even if I don't personally have one, that doesn't mean that I have any right to question your decision! Hope it leads many to question their faith when asking about it...
This tattoo is beautiful! I have always wanted to get one and witnessed my son getting his. But I also witnessed the healing process and have decided to wait for now. Although I have always wanted a cross with a heart entangled in it. Life is not over yet so...it may come to pass! And the story of why it is placed so strategically is awesome!
Dude that is a sweet tat. I agree with Jeff the symbolism is great. The meaning of it is what people need to see and understand and look at their own hearts. Awesome thanks bro.
